Prof. Dr. Tuwoso, M.P.
Biography
Prof. Dr. Tuwoso, M.P., born March 5, 1960, in Trenggalek, East Java, is a senior professor and leading expert in Technical and Vocational Education at Universitas Negeri Malang (UM), Indonesia. He holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering Education (IKIP Malang, 1988), a Master’s in Agricultural Mechanization (Universitas Gadjah Mada, 1997), and a Doctorate in Vocational and Technology Education (Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, 2011), demonstrating a strong academic background in both engineering and pedagogy.
With decades of dedicated service, Prof. Tuwoso has significantly contributed to vocational learning, integrating modern technology. He previously headed UM’s Mechanical Engineering Department (2015-2019) and served as its secretary. He’s also a sought-after speaker at international conferences like ICOVET and ICTVT. His research focuses on vocational education and emerging technologies, with a special interest in augmented reality, virtual laboratories, smart learning systems, and renewable energy tools. He has innovated virtual learning media, mobile reporting apps, and appropriate technology for rural and vocational settings, publishing extensively in Scopus-indexed journals and authoring instructional books. Recognized for applied innovations, he holds copyrights for interactive learning media and engineering tools, including a solar-powered pest repeller and a portable tractor. His impactful community service projects connect academic knowledge with real-world solutions, supporting local industries, MSMEs, and vocational schools across Indonesia.
