Biography

Danang Yugo Pratomo is a lecturer and researcher in Mechanical Engineering Education at Universitas Negeri Malang. He completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering Education from the same university. With over six years of professional experience in vocational engineering education, Danang has expertise in teaching CAD/CAM, industrial automation, welding, mechanical design, and machining processes. Previously, he worked at a private polytechnic under a mining-sector cooperative, where he held academic and managerial roles including Head of the Quality Assurance Unit and Secretary of the Automotive Engineering Program. He also served as a certified machining instructor at a public vocational training center (Balai Latihan Kerja), where he delivered technical training in turning and milling operations. Danang holds national certifications in machining operations (BNSP), instructional development (Applied Approach), procurement, and Certified International of Internal Audit Quality (CIIQA). He is actively involved in mentoring student innovation teams and in institutional curriculum design initiatives. Focus of Research Learning Innovation in Vocational and Mechanical Engineering Education: Model Development and Instructional Design for Strengthening Soft Skills and Technical Skills. His research focuses on developing innovative, competency-based learning models that integrate technical proficiency with 21st-century soft skills—critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity—through project-based and technology-enhanced instructional design in vocational contexts.
